My name is Dan Morris and I am a Seattle-based portrait and event photographer. I am a native of the great state of Maryland but have been a Washington resident since 1986. I received my degree in Commercial Photography from SCCC in 2000 and have never photographed a box or a can of anything since. My motto is “Anything that breathes.” My home and studio are on Queen Anne hill where I live with my lovely wife Maya, my daughter Lillian, and our dog Pink.
I am fun, easy to work with, responsive and tall. Enjoy my work, read my reviews and give me a call 206-271-9384.
What’s in a Name?
I came up with the name Fat Yeti Photography because I can only remember phone numbers by what they spell; my old landline spelled FAT-YETI (328-9384), that line went the way of the dinosaur so call my cell phone 206-271-9384.
When I chose the name, I thought everyone knew what a Yeti was, turns out, not so much.
YE•TI Pronunciation: ‘ye-tE, ‘yA- Function: noun Etymology: Sherpa (Tibetan dialect of the Sherpas)
A mysterious creature with human or apelike characteristics reported to exist in the high Himalayas also known as Abominable Snowman
What Clients Say
This is the guy to take your picture!
I consider myself pretty camera shy, but I needed an author photo for my website, business card and book jacket and other promo material. Dan of Fat Yeti Photography made me feel completely at ease and was totally tuned in to what I was looking for in a portrait. I ended up with a bunch of GREAT photos to choose from, and he did all of this on a short timeline and for a very reasonable price.

Wow! What a great personalized service and what a great time we had! Dan is super fun to work with and great at bringing out the mood you are trying to communicate in the photos. His use of lighting is stellar and we were blown away by his creativity. He really took the time to understand what we were looking for and make sure that we were nothing short of completely satisfied with the photos. Whether your are looking for traditional photos or something a little different, Dan has you covered. He suggested we work with a makeup artist he knows, which turned out to be a wonderful idea. I’d recommend it.

Dan was great! The entire experience from scheduling to the actual photo shoot was seamless and fun. And the whole photography session was enjoyable and relaxing. Dan is clearly a very experienced photographer — everything he does is very intentional. He made me feel really comfortable, and it shows in the photos. I’ve never had better pictures taken of me. I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out, and I’d recommend Fat Yeti Photography to anyone.

My organization hired Dan to photograph our annual awards event, and he will be our top choice for all upcoming future photography needs. Dan‘s patience and sense of humor put our attendees at ease and his artistic creativity and insight resulted in a series of pictures that really captured the essence of the day. Highly recommended.

I’m not the kind of person who’s ever enjoyed being in front of a camera but I needed some revamped headshots so I called Fat Yeti. And I’m so glad I did. I can’t say enough about Dan – he’s fun, he’s professional and he managed to bring out a side of me that I didn’t think existed – the photogenic one!
Definitely would recommend Fat Yeti and Dan to anyone!

Love love love the photos! I’m so happy with them. It would be very difficult to select which ones make the cut for the holiday cards.
